Disciple.app

Terms of Use

Effective November 5, 2026

The short version: Use Disciple.app to walk with people you trust. You own what you write, and we use it only to run the app for you. Be kind, keep it legal, and remember it's a tool for practice, not religious, medical or counseling advice.

Agreeing to these terms

Disciple.app is run by NewCulture Consulting, LLC, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA ("we" or "us"). These terms cover the web app at walk.disciple.app, the Disciple.app apps for iPhone and Android, and this website, www.disciple.app. By creating an account or using Disciple.app, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to use Disciple.app. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you.

Your account

Use an email address you can reach, and keep your sign-in safe: your email, password and passkeys. One account is for one person. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so if you think someone else has got into it, email support@disciple.app straight away.

Your content

What you write in Disciple.app is yours: practices, notes, marks, prayer requests, reflection answers, meeting notes and your profile.

You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, display and process your content only to run Disciple.app for you and the people you share it with. That includes passing it to the providers in our Privacy Policy, for example sending your answers to Anthropic when you ask for an AI read-back. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from short-lived backups.

The people in your walks see what the sharing rules show them, as set out in the Privacy Policy. Only share what you are comfortable with them seeing, and only share someone else's story with their permission.

Using it well

Please don't use Disciple.app to:

  • harass, threaten, shame or abuse anyone
  • post anything illegal, or anything that sexualizes a minor
  • pretend to be someone else
  • send invites to people who haven't asked for them, or use invites as spam
  • sell, advertise or recruit people to something unrelated
  • get at anyone else's data, get around our security or limits, or scrape, overload or disrupt the service
  • create accounts with bots or other automated means, or copy or reverse engineer the app to build a competing one

Walking with someone

A walk is private to the people in it. We don't read or moderate what you write in your walks, so you choose who to invite and what to share.

If a walk stops being good for you, leave it: in the app, go to Account, then Leave or pause a walk. Leaving is how you block someone. They stop seeing you as a member, and you stop seeing them.

To report abuse, email support@disciple.app with what happened. We may look at the walk involved to deal with a report, and we may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If anyone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first.

Not religious, medical or counseling advice

Disciple.app helps you keep practices you choose, with someone you choose. It doesn't replace your church, pastor, priest, rabbi or other spiritual leader, a counselor, or a doctor. Nothing in it, including AI read-backs and guides, is religious instruction or medical, psychological or other professional advice.

AI read-backs and rule import are written by a computer from your own words and can be wrong. Check what they produce, and keep what helps.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the United States, or your local emergency number.

Paid plans

Disciple.app is free today, and a walk will always be free for the people in it. If we offer optional paid plans, such as Supporter or Church plans, we will show the price and what you get before you pay. Purchases inside the iPhone or Android app go through Apple or Google, under their terms, including for refunds.

Our part

The Disciple.app name, logo, apps, website and guides belong to NewCulture Consulting, LLC or its licensors. Using Disciple.app doesn't give you ownership of them. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Disciple.app running, but it may sometimes be down or slow. We may add, change or remove features. If we plan to shut down Disciple.app, we will give you notice and time to export your data.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Account in the app. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we need to protect someone, or if the law requires it. Where it makes sense, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first. The sections on your content, disclaimers, limits of liability and governing law still apply after an account ends.

Disclaimers

Disciple.app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders will always arrive on time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, NewCulture Consulting, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of Disciple.app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $10 if you paid nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Apple and Google

If you got the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren't responsible for the app or its support. Their store terms also apply to your use of the store.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using Disciple.app after a change means you accept the new terms.
